Learn Dressmaking for Beginners
Starts Tuesday 7th May 2019
***NEW LOCATION: LINTON VILLAGE HALL***
Join our Beginner’s Dressmaking classes taught by veteran (but definitely not old!) dressmaker Andrea Williams. You’ll start with a simple dressmaking project that you have chosen from Andrea’s extensive collection of patterns and you will progress from there.
You will learn how to size and measure, how to prepare patterns, resize patterns, how to lay our dressmaking patterns in the most cost effective way and/or to the fabric and print that you have at hand, what fabrics to choose for your pattern, and how to make your garment. You’ll be mastering concealed zips, poppers, plackets, inserting sleeves, pockets and so much more.
There will be lots of hints, tips and laughs along the way and you’ll be dressmaking with confidence in no time.
Our classes are every Tuesday 10am – 12.30pm in Linton Village Hall and are on:
Tuesday 7th May 2019
Tuesday 14th May 2019
Tuesday 21st May 2019
Tuesday 4th June 2019
Tuesday 11th June 2019
The next five week block will start on Tuesday 18th June 2019

Listen to what Stephanie has to say about learning to make her first item – this brilliant skirt (and this was the second recording because somehow I didn’t press “record” on the first version. Ahem)
Here’s Lisa showing off the skirt she made as a second project:
This is Michele’s second make – and her second time doing a catwalk twirl!
Here’s one of our Beginners, Lisa, talking about what she made in Term 2:
